Sub Spots
Quick Links and FAQs
I won't be at one of my games. How do I request a sub?
To post your spot for someone to pick up, use the Sub Request Form link above to fill out a sub request. The sooner you open up a spot, the better the chance someone will fill it. We prefer sub spots to be posted at least 24 hours before game time.
How do I sign up to sub in a game?
All currently open sub spots are listed in the table above with a Sign Up link to the far right of the row. Click the Sign Up link for the spot and follow the prompts to complete the form. The Sub Coordinator will review your sub request and either approve or deny it depending on whether you are within the rating range for the division and the team is compliant with all team rating rules.
Can I sub even though I'm not rostered this season?
Yes! Use the Register as a Sub link above to register. Once you have registered, you'll be able to sign up for open sub spots.
I'm rostered this season. Do I also need to register as a sub?
No, as a currently rostered player, you do not need to submit a separate sub registration. The reason we ask non-rostered players to register as subs is so that they can share their prior hockey experience and to collect their USA Hockey confirmation number.
As a team manager, how can I see who signed up for sub spots on my team?
The table above shows all the currently open and claimed sub spots. Sub spots that are pending approval are still awaiting review by our Sub Coordinator. Our system automatically approves all valid sub requests, so if a spot has been sitting at pending approval for more than 10 minutes, then there's an issue with it that needs reviewed such as the player rating not being within the range for the division or the team being over the cap.
As a team manager, can I get access to a list of players who want to sub?
Yes! Login to All-Star Rec Manager using the Login link above, go to the Reports page, and pull up the report Sub Player List report.
